installing garage door through existing siding

I'm turning a room of my house back into the garage it originally was. Framing is fine and not part of the question.

My issue is, how do I cut the rough opening through the existing siding and make it look, ugh, good?

I COULD remove all the siding from that section of the house, install the door, then re-side around it but it would be a lot of work. Just wondering if there's an alternative.

installing garage door through existing siding

do you know how the original garage door was closed off? I would guess the original framing is still there, and the wall was created by adding studs in the opening.

Tear down the drywall from the inside to expose framing. get rid of no longer needed framing members. cut siding from the inside so its flush with framing. Or drill pilot holes from the inside corners to mark corners and cut from outside. Install door & trim. U don't need to remove all siding.

whats the siding material?
