I want to set up a home gym

I ordered an impact wrench only to find out that I need an air compressor. Since I am not willing to invest money into something that would be useless to me, I am wondering if an impact driver would be able to do the job I need it to do, which basically is everything a wrench and screw driver does. I would greatly appreciate if someone could help me. Thank you in advance.

What's a home gym got to do with an impact wrench?
If your just trying to put it together then just use sockets and or wrenches.
An impact gun would be used for big nuts that need a lot of torque.

In the assembly video the guys used a drill like tool to screw in the bolts and using wrenches would require me to have an extra pair of hands so I assumed that an impact wrench would be the way to go.

You needed what's called an impact driver, not an impact gun.
It's battery operated.
I have the Ryobi brand drivers. The less expencive to buy and the batterys cost 1/2 as much as the other brands.
With a driver you can use it to drill holes, tighten nuts, remove and drive screws.
