i need to support a 1000 lb bathtub

Help! What kind of structural support do i need to support a 1000+ lb bathtub? Specs say 800 Lbs with water.
Have a pier and beam foundation and am installing a wider deeper tub which i would like to drop down in the floor about 6" or so. I got joist hangers, but I'm sure there is more to this than meets the eye. Want to make sure I give it the proper structural support.

Unfortunately your question is much too general for us to be able to begin to assist you. There are a number of variables that must be evaluated in order to know what it will take to support it. Those variables include span of the floor joists, joist spacing, grade of lumber, other loads on the floor system, etc.

My advice would be to contact a structural engineer in your area that does small residential jobs like this. They'll need to visit your home and evaluate its structure to determine what will work best.
