Hurricane tie alternative

Hi folks. New user here. I'm building an outdoor kitchen out of cypress beams. The rafters are 4x8 sitting on top of a 4x10 header, columns are 8x8. I live in south Louisiana and Other than a hurricane tie, what can I use to attach these and still meet code? Would lag bolts work? I was hoping to find something more decorative (or hidden) than a hurricane clip. Probably gonna contact Simpson strong tie and see if they can help. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks.

Who drew the plans? If an architect did....ask him. If not....call the building department and ask the inspector
