how to you make these?

These are relatively common on the exterior corners of properties in my area. I was just wondering how these darker blue squares are made. That house is stucco finish, and it appears (from the street anyways) that it's a smooth concrete finish on the darker blue (not the rougher finished stucco that covers most of the exterior). How do you do these? Are they structural blocks from the construction? Are they just built up stucco? Are they cast/framed in place concrete that was covered with stucco after? Were they just wood or polystyrene veneer that was affixed to the house, then covered over with stucco?

I'm about to stucco my house, and if those types of details are easy (like just carving/affixing something like eps or wood to the house) I'd love to be doing tons of accents with them.

Any input would be greatly appreciated, stucco project is on schedule to begin tomorrow!

In south florida alot of people put bands around the house and windows. Thats done by nailing casing bead to the exterior in the shape desired and filling the area with a 2 coat stucco process. Not sure on the blocks you want but that may be the same way.

They are just more styrofoam shapes over the flat styrofoam. The shapes vary.

Aha! I googled and found them pre-made for sale, damn they're expensive! I also read about just making them yourself from eps (expanded polystyrene, same/similar to styrofoam), seems like it would be real easy to make, though this is a little much for right now, I think I'll just do flat stucco around my corners.
