HOW: Wood railing/posts attached to brick steps?

Please / Thanks -

1910 Craftsman-style house w/brick-step front porch; want to attach wood railing; wondering if concrete anchors drilled into the brick are sufficient for the posts, or whether I should drill deeper on the assumption/hope there is solid concrete under the bricks?

Recommendations/experience(s)/thoughts?

Many thanks.

I would use lag bolts and lead anchors. Get bolts long enough to penetrate the masonary by 3"
An alternative would be to epoxy bolts into the stoop and use nuts and washers.
