How wide a door for a walk out basement.

jrepp Newbie   Join Date: Aug 2007 Posts: 28	How wide a door for a walk out basement. Looking at the Big Box web sites 36" seems to be the largest exterior door commonly available. Would there be any advantage to a wider door? Thanks, Jimmie

gorf Newbie   Join Date: Aug 2008 Posts: 12	How wide a door for a walk out basement. I took out a 36" door and put in a six foot slider with a 3 foot fixed panel on each side, but the house overlooks a lake. What are you going to use the door for and do you want the light/view or just access?

You may get some BIG TOOLS for Xmas and need to get them in and out. __________________ I may go home hungry, but not tired and hungry.
