how much to run a gas line?

we already have a gas line that runs to the furnace in the basement. I would like to switch the kitchen stove from electric to gas some day (not in the market yet.... hope to do this next year, so it's a theoretical question... I just would like to know how much $$$ to save before getting estimates :)).
The basement is unfinished, so the line can run along the ceiling beams from the furnace area to the area right below the kitchen... roughly 20 feet, and then pop through the floor or wall by the stove.

What do you think (obviously hiring a licensed pro for this)? $500? $800? hopefully not more than that :pinch:

thanks!

Call a plumber w/ gas fitting certificate and ask for ballpark price. They'll quote you a ballpark over the phone. Nobody can tell you what materials will cost a year down the road though. I would guestimate the labor would be between $375 and $500 in your area.

Your thinking is counter intuitive.
You get the estimates, so you know how much to save.
This would be a site specific estimate based on the situation in your house.
