How many wallboards do I need

I would like to finish my basement and measured the rom to by 530 sf. How do I figure how many wall boards I would need?

A square foot number would only be relevant for an estimation of the ceiling. For the walls, you would need the length and height of every wall. The more partition walls, the more sheets you would use.
It would help if you supplied more details.
For the ceiling, you would divide 530 by 32 to get the number of ceiling sheets you would need. that works out to about 17 sheets.
If the room was just a box 23' x 23' you would need 6 sheets x 4 walls= 24 sheets.
There will be waste, so add a few sheets to the total.

It really isn't that hard...

Room SF = ceiling SF = 5/8" sheetrock

Room perimeter x height of walls = wall SF = 1/2" sheetrock

Add 10% to each number for scrap and screwups.
