How long in general does it take for stud to rot?

Title explains most of it, but how long does it take for stud to rot? Can it happen in just 3-4 months?

depends on wood species and amount of moisture within the wood. some species such as cypress and locust can last an extremely long time. even fragile species such as pine can last if submerged under water without oxygen.

can it happen in just 3 to 4 months? probably so if the conditions are right.

are you looking for something specific or just a general answer to a general question?

Just a general answer. Around 1-6 months is good.

Mine never rot---so about 300 years if installed properly.

Buried in the ground? Or laying in wet grass? 2 to 6 months.
