how to insulate oven exhaust

I was able to look around my house with a thermal camera this past weekend and noticed that the oven exhaust was one of the spots where I'm losing heating I'm left wondering how to insulate it, any ideas? It's an old, circa 1959, copper exhaust.

Can you post a picture of this? Inside and out. I've never seen an oven exhaust. Exhaust fans over stoves, yes. Never for an oven.
How is this ductwork run? Out the wall? Through the floor?

Oops, long day, meant stove. I'll take pictures later today. Thank you

It's standard to have a flap where the the duct is attached to the fan, and another on the exterior duct cover. This stops the window from blowing back thru the duct, but it's a crap idea. Maybe someone knows of a better system out there

That sounds about right, I don't have a draft but I'm just noticing the heat loss because of the IR camera. Can I get up on a ladder and insulate the outside flap somehow?

Ideas anyone? Just trying to cut down on heating costs and be green :)

Not without impeding the function of the fan.
