How to install flashing?

Would like to install flashing along the soffit of our detached garage. As you can sort of see, carpenter bees have done work to the wood soffit along the roofline. I know nothing about flashing, but what tools would I need to install it to make the proper folds, etc.? Thanks!

I can't see anything in that photo.

In order to install flashing, you need a hammer and some nails. Some flashing is self-adhesive and you can go over it with house wrap.

It may come pre-bent, or you can bend it with a brake or just a straight piece of stock.

Not a great DIY job because your going to need a brake to bend the coil stock. A brake is a $1200 plus piece of equipment, plus all the other seam tools and snips you would need to do it.
Yes you can rent one at HD but by the time you buy the coil stock at about $80.00 a roll and figure out how to use the brake, the job could have been done.
Any Siding company can do this for you.
Someones going to suggest just buying preformed fashia and installing it yourself. Not the best Idea. You would still have no way to trim out the boxing at the bottoms of the roofs.

you can buy this flashing for soffits at any siding, building or box store premade. Use of a brake is unlikely.
