How do I find a framing contractor in Rhode Island

Hi!

I have been advised in this forum that I should have a framing contractor and not a "general" contractor to fix the roof framing of my home. I tried yellow pages, asked around and all I get is ....."general contractor who have framing experience"..

So how do look for a framing contractor...do they exist? if i have to go with a general contractor...what questions should I ask?

Thanks

I didn't give you that advice. I went back and read your posts, and in my opinion, you need to contact a general contractor and explain what you need done / estimated. If he doesn't do that kind of work, he will refer you to someone who does.

The actual definition of what a "framing contractor" does is build new houses, i.e., the framing of a house. Since you have structural issues with the walls and the roof, you need to get an experienced contractor...maybe get ideas and estimates from more then one.

There were suggestions from someone that a framing contactor would do it better and cheaper. SO I guess General contractor would be ok!

Thanks
