How to determine how many windows go in new basement
 

We are having a new basement poured and don't know how many windows we have to have or need to have. I know more light is better but is there a code for this?

Why are you not asking your local building dept.? Even the guys doing the foundation should know the local codes, if not there should not be doing it.
No one here even know where you live. If you go back and edit your profile and add your location someone may just know the ansewer.

Was there building permits and drawings submitted?

Depending on how you are using it, there may be specific ingress/egress codes just to start. Not only will they indicate how many you need but at what height for your area.

:jester: but if you do not pull permits it saves money upfront and usually more than triples the cost at the end :thumbup: or maybe like in some townships here only permit is zoning to make sure it is not on neighbors or effecting neighbors land (like water diverting):huh:
