How can I tell if my taping is good enough?

I have pretty much finished taping my drywall, and I have sanded and I think it looks pretty good to me.

I have put a light from an angle on the walls and it looks pretty good to me.

How would I know for sure before I put the primer on?

Is there a drywall primer that is more "hiding" than another?

Thanks

Put a square across the joint,,,or a long drywall knife, and strong light behind and see what you see. Put bright light close to wall and look both ways

Glossy paints will show the flaws more than flat paints will.

The light trick works as well as anything I know. Put your head to the wall you're checking and look along the wall, not right at it.

thanks for the responses.

KC, I do not plan on using high gloss, so I am hoping that it will turn out ok.

I have put the light to it and it looks good to me.
What I may do is prime one wall and see how it looks.

I find the primer will show the defects. You can still touch them up over the primer.
