Hot tub frame on Deck?

I have a hot tub that was given to me and need help building a frame for it. I want to put it on a deck and need to build a frame for it or find someone who can build it for me. The person that gave it to us had it in the ground but we want to put it on a covered deck.

Do you have a specific question?
If you are putting it ON the deck the deck will most likely need a LOT of reinforcement to hold the weight

If you are putting it IN the deck & supported from below that would be better

Hot tub frame on Deck?

I agree with Scuba Dave,

Building a hot tub ON a deck is best left for the pros or at a minumum make sure your design is approved to take the load. There are differant things required for a deck, a covered deck, and a deck supporting a hot tub.

Please do not 'wing it' All it takes is someone getting hurt or worse.

Like Scuba said, if you build the deck basically around the hot tub so the hot tub is not being supported by the actual deck, you have more room for error and the load requirements for the deck would be far less and much safer. Just make sure the tub has proper support under it .

When in doubt check with the building officials.

Build safe.

Hot tub frame on Deck?

Dave, is there any way this could be a new post? People are answering a 2+ year old post.
Be safe, Gary
