Hot Tub Deck

I want to build an elevated deck ( 12' x 14 ') strong enough to hold a large hot tub on the surface. This will be an add on to my current elevated deck. Approximate weight of hot tub will be about 6000 lbs. with water.
I need info such as how many 6x6 posts, what size beams, how far apart, and how thick the decking should be, etc.

Thanks

Al

You want to contact a local engineer, talk with him about the project and pay him to draw up some plans for you. You're going to need an engineer's stamp on the plans to get the permit anyway.
This is not a small project that you can just hop online, get the specs and go building away. This is 3 tons of party on stilts! Done wrong, people die.
