Hole in Cinder Block Wall for Small Air Conditioner

I want to put a 15,000-BTU air conditioner in my garage's cinder block wall. There is no rebar, and the wall is free of internal wiring and plumbing.

I'm not all that concerned about making the hole. There are a lot of ways to do that. I thought I might just saw it out with a circular saw and a masonry blade. I have a big compressor and an air chisel, and I also have an angle grinder and a rotary hammer, so I'm pretty sure the hole can be made. What I want to know is, what do I do after that?

The unit will be 24" by 18", more or less. Will I need to support the blocks above it? What do I use to frame the hole, so the unit has something to sit on?

People have suggested a portable air conditioner, but I want to do it right, with a wall unit, so a portable is out. Besides, a portable would still require a big hole for the air discharge.
