Help with Roof

A lady that I used to work with told me that she and her husband had sheets of tin placed over the existing shingles on thier roof. She said they liked the look of the tin roof and the house was better insulated after this. Has anyone ever done this, and do you think it would be wise. Sounds good, but I wouldn't want to make a terrible mistake by doing this on my house.

You can do it but you need to fur it up so the air can get under the metal.
