Help with bathroom remodel!!!

I live in a 60 year old bungalow and the bathroom is in serious need of a remodel. The bathroom is small so the previous owners thought it would be a good idea to put a small "Japanese sitting tub" in because of its small size. This tub would be great for a midget, but I am 6'5'. The current size of the bathroom is 3'7" wide by 7'6" long. I plan on widening the bathroom from 3'7' to 5'7" to allow for a five foot tub to fit in the newly remodeled bathroom. Currently the ceramic tiles are falling off the wall. We would like to put a surround in to replace the tile, but we have a 3' tall by 1.5' wide window in the center.

My question is this;
What is a good surround that can be cut for a window that does not cost a huge amount? I would also like a surround that is tall because I would like the shower to be fairly high. I am not opposed to tile, but I know that a good surround should make it completely water proof. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

You pretty much destroy the "completely water proof" aspect when you cut a hole in it for the window. Windows are a bad idea in a shower because they are a notorious weak point for water penetration which leads to rot, mold and a host of other nasties. I would give serious consideration to either losing the window or replacing it with one high enough not to get hit directly by water.

As far as layout is concerned, can you post a current layout, as well as where you are considering expanding? Location of the door and current fixtures would help others offer suggestions.

Yes, the window and the water is a bad idea, but is there some kind of pvc trim to wrap the existing trim that would prevent water from entering?

You are kind of stuck with a ceramic tile surround----That window won't work with any surround I've ever heard of.
