header beam where to buy


so where can one go to buy a 20'clear span header beam do they make them that long ,is lvl ?stronger than say 2x12x1/2 ply 2x12x1/2 ply 2x12, just looking an thinging of a plan

You might start by looking at a lumber supply store.

yes, if the same size. so are psl's. and, engineered beams are more structurally stable (not nearly as much shrinking, warping, twisting).

header beam where to buy


for engineered lumber you have to go to a lumberyard not a big box store. it might have to be special ordered. the size of the beam has to be spec`d by a engineer for your application too.
