Hangers for old lumber

Does anyone know of a joist hanger made specifically for old lumber sizes? The 2x8 has an actual size of 1 3/4". If not, what do you typically do in this situation?
I'm about to start shortening the floor joists to make room for a LVL floor beam.

Hangers for old lumber

Nobody has run across this before?
After perusing the Simpson Strong Tie catalog I found that the engineered wood hanger (HU7) is the perfect size for the joist (actual size 1.75 x 7.25). Can anyone think of a reason why this couldn't be used for sawn lumber?
