Grout for a Shower floor
I have a couple of places on the shower floor where the grout is cracking and needs to be replaced. Just slong four tile actually. What grout is best for a shower floor? At the home supply store many types had not for shower use or for standing water or for temperatures above 100 degrees. It seems a shower floor would hit all of these exclusions at some point.
sanded? unsanded? I understand most premixed grouts become soft from the hot water making it impractical. Suggestions? |

Grout for a Shower floor
If the tiles are secured and the grout did not come out due to a bad substrate, you can use any good powdered grout. Hydromet, Latecrete or Custom are fine to use. The type of grout depends on the space between the tiles. Up to 1/8", you use unsanded. Above that, use sanded grout.
Check to see the tiles are not loose before you regrout. Ron |
