Glass mirror over fireplace, any ideas how to install flat screen TV?
Hey DIY'ers.
My friend has a natural gas fireplace, corner unit. There are 2 pieces of custom cut mirrored glass glued (??? not sure, just guessing) to the drywall from the top of the fireplace to the ceiling which is about 20-25 feet high. Each piece is identical size, probably somewhere around 5 ft. wide by 8 ft. high. He'd like to mount a flat screen LCD or Plasma TV above the fireplace. He called the original installers and they will not guarantee that they can drill or fasten something to the glass without the glass cracking or pulling off the drywall. I'm thinking maybe fastening something to the adjoining walls, but that would kinda look cheesy IMO... Any ideas out there, besides removing the lower piece of glass, appreciated. Thanks in advance.
