We are replacing a 2'x3' wood window in a shower with glass block. The window, including frame has already been removed by the GC, whom I subsequently terminated (for reasons beyond the scope of this post).
Here are my questions:
(1) The house has two layers of siding: masonite lap siding covered by vinyl siding. How would the new glass block window come out to the vinyl j-channel? Would the glass extend over the masonite? If so, how would it be secured/ supported? We are using the thin (3") blocks.
(2) Do I need to apply flashing (e.g., Protectowrap) around the rough-in frame PRIOR to laying the glass block? A glass block installation company said they just apply mortar, no flashing.
