Gate/Fence Question

Wasn't sure what topic this really belonged in so I'll try here. I have a wrought iron fence across the front of my house with a gate on each far end. The gates use handles and hardware similar to a house door. With all of the snow and ice we've had it seems the gap has widened between one of the gates and the fence. Now when the gate is closed the latch is just barely touching the fence so it doesnt take much for it to swing back open. Since the fence is iron is there anything I can do to build out the latch catch short of welding?

Thanks
