gas stove clearance between cabinets

im installing h.d . "white thermofoil" kitchen cabinets. getting measured for counters tomorrow am. would it be best to leave a little room between gas stove and the cabinets on either side to keep some heat off the doors? been looking online for some sort of heat shield but cant find any. been told to be careful with the self cleaning option.

The heatshield for those cabinets, is nothing more than sheetmetal placed on them. Personally, the thermofoil cabinets are the worst type to get, and the last type that I would ever consider buying, if it was me.

Maybe something bad, maybe something good. I guess we'll never know, 'cause you're going to guard it. You won't touch it, will you?

You do not want a big gap between your stove and the countertops. It serves no real purpose, and only makes it look sloppy.

I do not know what "thermofoil cabinet is. Is there a clearance listed to heat producting appliances? If so, follow the mfg requirements

Go online for the clearances required for the stove.

I've never left any "extra" gaps next to the stove. Never had an issue with any cabinet material.
