gas line

my husband wants to pour a cement walkway outside of our laundry room but the gas line comes out through the laundry room and along the bottom of the house towards the gas meter out back how would he protect the gas line from getting damaged or can he pour concrete over it safely?

Call the local building dept. to get the correct procedures.
