garage door size, is it wide enough?

I'm converting a room back into the garage it used to be.

It's 20' wide, 24' deep.

It's currently framed for 10' wide door. Do you think this would be able to fit two cars? A larger door would obviously require much new framing, even disturbing the siding on the outside, I don't know if I really want to open that can of worms...

Anyone have any input?

What cars will you be using, now and in the future? How skillful are the drivers? How much to repair outside mirrors once in a while? You going to back in? How wide is the driveway?

The Web can supply you reasonable minimum door dims for a two car arrangement.

It's kind of a question of opening the can of worms once vs. chronic low-level worry.

You could also run some tests with 'average' drivers [several of your friends].

A standard 2 car garage is 16' wide. unless you and your spouse each drive a mini cooper, 10' wide is probably going to range anywhere from tight to impossible

My wife's small Vibe is 69.5" wide & ~14' long
I can see driving a car like that into the back corner
Then pulling another car into the other corner
But not much fun......and you'd probably need to keep everything else out of the garage

No, Johnny, it won't fit 2 cars.
