Garage door opener


Hey guys does anybody know how to bypass the photo sencors on a craftmans 3/4 h/p model # 139 184 89D the one is out can't get the door to close. Now I don't have any kids or animals I'm going to kill can any body help would be appreciated. Thanks

You would probably be better off finding what the problem is and fixing it than trying to eliminate/bypass a safety feature like that. People tend to be somewhat cavalier about garage doors but they are the largest moving object in a home and do present a trapping hazard. That's why they have gone with the photoeyes. Plus, depending on where you are, it might be illegal to circumvent it.

Check the eyes to make sure they are clean, look for any possible breaks in the wires where something may have hit them, and check the alignment.

I don't feel comfortable answering because of liability. It doesn't just protect your kids or your animals.

Disengage the opener and close it manually.
Check the eyes alignment.
Replace as needed.
