Looking to install a garage door in 1 car carport. Issue is that I have a wall mounted electrical panel located about 12" from garage opening and 10" below ceiling joists. My concern is the horizontal portion of the track - and radius (bends the track from horizontal to vertical) - will block access to the electrical panel and will prevent me from opening it. Is there a way to make the horizontal portion of the track as close as possible to the ceiling joists so that I can still open the electrical cabinet? Does anyone know the smallest radius available so that this transition piece does not block access to electrical cabinet?
Many thanks - appreciate any help / advice.
This type of door is called a low head room, even though it makes no sense to say it for this application, and it is a door company install....you will not find them at a box store. Call a door company and have them give you an estimate. Although these type of tracks aren't that pricey for those of us who actually install them look for it to add a 1/3 more to the price.
