Working with a builder to convert 1/2 of a two car garage to a quilting studio in SW Oregon. So, major problem we are trying to avoid is dampness.
We have sealed 1/2 the garage floor with a moisture barrier which seems to be working fine. However, when we put down the Dri-Core subfloor down temporarily, dampness comes in under the tiles. It might be because the other half of the garage is not sealed.
So, we are now going to seal the other 1/2 of the garage and hope that solves the problem (along with looking at the drainage around the garage if it doesn't). We are planning on installing a de-humidifier as well.
Any other advice or things to look at? Since the finished project is going to store fabric, we really don't want to have a mold issue.
