Galvanized steel versus cast iron

I have a trench drain in my driveway. The first owners had "light duty" plastic grates that are now breaking. I can replace the grates with cast iron or galvanized steel. Which one would be better?

When the time comes to clean the trench the galvanized may be much easier (lighter) to handle/remove.
