Gable Louver banging in the wind

Last night we had high winds and our roof turbines were spinning wildly causing a lot of air to come into the attic which pushed through the Gable Louver. It keep flapping, creaking, etc. so we sprayed it with a lubricant this morning. That should cut down some of the noise but I am wondering if anyone has any ideas on how to make it quieter. Should we put some weather stripping on the bottom of the vent?

For starters, do you have soffit vents on your home? One of the roof experts is going to have to confirm this, but I believe that if you have soffit and roof vents, your gable vents are supposed to be removed or otherwise sealed anyway, in which case you could close them completely.

Cool

Gable Louver banging in the wind

Thank you for the reply, glad someone at least answered! No, we do not have soffit vents in our house. The Gable vents are in the attic so when the attic fan is on, air can escape. However, as written, the wind was so strong last night, it made the turbines pull so much air in that the vents were opening, even though the attic fan was not on. It only comes on when the attic temp. rises too high, i.e. in the summer.
