Furring out walls for insulation?

Ok,
so from my understanding, I wll need to furr out all of my existing 2x4 walls in my attic (approx 825 sft) so I can use R-19 insulation.

A heating/cooling rescheck was done from the building inspector, and in order for my attic renovation (house is only 3 years old?) to pass inspection or to continue, the walls around the windows in attic need to be furred out to be 5 1/2 inches for r-19 insulation.

There are alot (5) of window dormers in the attic, so my question is can we use 2x3 which would bring the wall out 6 inches? What potential issues can happen by doing this?

The cathederal ceilings are 9 inches would be R-38..

Any other ideas?

Furring out walls for insulation?

Can you have a closed cell insulation sprayed in? I think you get an R value of 6 per inch or an R21 in 2x4 walls.

Furring out walls for insulation?

Thank you for your response.

I was looking into that as well, but wasn't sure if that was possible with the spray foam insulation. Can this be done only to the window doormers? or would i have to spray foam the cathederal ceilings as well?

Thanks
