Just a guess here since your post is a bit vague, but I'd say you have a standard 60" x 80" patio door. A french door would have both sides able to open, there are a great many styles of doors that you can purchase to fit the opening you appear to have. This isn't a job you'll be able ot handle on your own without some assistance and if you've never set a door before, I wouldn't suggest you try this as your first.

If you are serious about tackling this yourself, I reccomend removing the interior casing. Remove it as carefully as you can, but this will expose the studs and let you get an accurate 'rough opening' measurement that you can take with you when you shop for a new door. My other suggestion is to read lots of books with pictures, ask lots of questions and understand what you are getting into. It may seem straight forward, but what the professionals get paid for are dealing with the hidden 'problems' that arise when you put a hole in the side of your house. Like rotten wood or a cob job from someone before you. Good luck and there is great satisfaction in doing it yourself.
