Framing off by 1/8"

while framing my basement i keep running into problems where because of either irregularities of the wall or floor or very slightly warped 2x4s my bottom/top plates will stick out an 1/8" over an 8' run. or the studs will hang over or not come to the edge of the bottom/top plate. these discrepancies are never more than an 1/8" and only occur 1 or 2 times in every 8' run of framing. so my question is are these little gaps normal and acceptable and will they go unnoticed when the drywall is all finished or should every joint be perfectly flush? keep in mind the basement is just being turned into an additional tv area and playroom for the kids, nothing big or fancy.

Not a real problem now.
You have a issue to deal with and is time to figure out the best way to deal.

I use my framing gun and can nail it exactly where I want it.
I use my screw gun and get it really close.
I drive nails with my hammer and hope it stays together and 1/8" off I am not going to complain.

Colin.... I admire your concern... but don't loose any sleep.

I've always told my son that building well is just "constantly erring in the correct direction".... point being, you'll never be perfect, you just keep making sure you are minimising it.

Boy... Last year my son and me, from Colorado where we use KD SPF for studs (which are relatively straight), framed up his 1800 foot addition in Cali where everything is wet doug fir.

Boy.... we would have loved your tolerances.

We had some shimming/shaving before drywall.

Good going
