Framing for a new construction window
I am building a new addition and want to know the best way to frame a rough opening for a new window. For my window Pella says:
"6" Overall frame depth (4-9/16" wall depth). Eliminates the need for drywall return"
What size studs are needed for this window. Will 2x4's work?
(3-1/2" stud width + 1/2" exterior sheathing + 1/2" drywall + 1/16" overage = 4-9/16" wall depth)
In case you need any pointers on window framing arrangements:
