We just purchased a 30 y.o. home and are replacing an existing tall window with a 6' sliding patio door. I think I have a handle on roughing in the new opening, but I am looking for a good resource for all the other best practices DIY stuff, proper installation of flashing, caulking, squaring the door, etc. Does anyone have a link for something like this? Several of the YouTube videos are a joke. They are either installing a door in an existing opening or they are practicing bad JuJu by not even installing a header. Thanks! Murph
