Footer size for a monolithic patio that can support simple roof

The cost of pouring a separate footer and slab is high, (Two pumps. trips etc) so I am looking at pouring a monolithic turn down slab with footer just enough to support a simple shed roof that can cover 20 X 20 patio. I am NOT building a two story, just a simple roof for a screened porch. I live in Greater Atlanta area

My questions are: 1) What should be the size of the footer of the monolithic slab? 2) Any disadvantages of a monolithic slab? (Crack etc). Thanks

This is what we use here in Florida. If you need side support, same sized haunch around all three sides. That's a 45 degree slope. Three #5's.

We are pouring a 12x20 monolithic slab within the next week or so. I plan to remove the back wall of my garage and enclose the whole slab to end up with a 3-car, L-shaped garage. Since we plan to park a car on it if necessary, the slab will be 6" thick, fiberglass reinforced with rebar tying it to my existing slab. The footers will be 3' deep.
