Foil backed drywall
Has anyone used foil backed drywall instead of poly sheeting? I heard of a builder doing this, and this idea, if it works, seems a lot more fun than poly sheeting.

It's used a lot over here.

So, this stuff serves as an internal vapor barrier?

Apparently the ASTM tests show this stuff has performance of under .1 perms. Now, where can I get some? Are the joints treated in any special way?

Any ideas where I might find a lumber yard in the Northeast that stocks this stuff? Nationial Gypsum and US Gypsum both manufacture it, but I'm not sure who might have some in the yard.

No, the boards are just fixed as normal, at least they are here.

If you know who manufactures it, go to your local lumber yard and ask if they can order it. Heck, you would be surprised what Home Depot can order in at their contractor desk.

doesn't it get damaged in transit or during installation?
