foam insulation

We have a 6-year old crawl-space house, and our floor is very cold in the winter. Is it a good idea to spray foam insulation to warm things up?

Closed cell spray foam would be a GREAT way to fix that. Its a vapor barrier and a great insulator

The foam spray will expand and fill every single nook, cranny, crevice, hole, crack, and gap making a perfect continuous air-tight seal every time, regardless of complex framing and penetrations. This would be a great choice and the R value is un-compromised by external forces like temperature and wind.

be sure to put a good vapor BARRIER, like 6 mil poly, Tuff Nuff, etc, on the ground, too. are the walls wood studs, or concrete block? if block, xps ("blue or pink board"), with taping the seams shut, is also an option, and cheaper than spray foam.

Couldn't agree more with most, in a crawl space there is hardly a better option than 2+ inches of closed cell . It will do the trick for exactly what are you looking to accomplish.
