Floor Truss versus Ibeam

I am working on a 2nd story addition and the floor joists will span 22ft. i was planning on using 16 inch tall ibeams spaced 12 inch on centers to get a stiffer floor - but now i a considering having trusses built maybe a bit taller ..18 or 20 inches and get them from the same supplier as my roof trusses...they will be a little less expensive than the ibeam (ibeams are wood)

Any practical advice on which to use..engineering wise they are equivalent (or can be when spaced right)

Thanks

Since you want stiffness you need to compare the dead + live load rating of each for a given deflection; L/360, L/240, whatever. For a 22' span, L/360 is a 22(12)/360 = 0.7" midspan sag.
