flasking chimney


can i still use my fireplace if the chimney needs reflasking?

There is no such word so I'm guessing you mean tuck pointing. If the chimmneys is poor shape someone needs to fix ASAP. Many many homes have been lost from chimmney fires.

If you mean "reflashing" -
you can probably, use your fireplace.
If you have any concerns - find someone in your area, who knows about
chimneys - have them look at it.
Any leaks (water) -
Wood burning?

Good call, I agree you should be able to use it but in the mean time if it's leaking it's going to do nothing but get more expencive to repair if you let it go.
