fireplace and chimney top rebuild???

hi folks
just thought id post up my progress on the fireplace project.

ive welded up a steel surround for the edging of the fireplace.
layed some kahki slabs for the hearth, pointed them up and repainted the breast,

firebaskets on order and the builders given the ok for the chimney rebuild and says everything should be fine with using the builders opening and a 15 inch fire basket.

also ive been able to refit the original leccy fire when the open fire isnt being used, right result.

also for 140 worth of bricks, flue liners and lead for the flashing plus 300 labour, the chimney will be gettin rebuild by a local builder i trust who did a huge amount of work for me during a renovation project.

enjoy

Looking good, and a fair price for the stack rebuild. What colour is the breast?

fireplace and chimney top rebuild???

hi folks,
at last the porject is complete.
after the snow holding up the project i managed to get the chimney rebuild for 250.
also i found the builders opening was a little too high and allowed the odd whips of smoke into the room so i dropped the height using a fabricated front place with a muliple gradiant arc.

she burns really nice and hot, and looks the bees knees.
many thanks to all the folks who took the time to respond to my questions.

syborg.
