Fireplace advice

I would love to compare notes with either someone who installs fireplace liners or someone who has had one installed and has no smoke problems

what kind of fire place I put in a vent less run by propain.I had a few problems at first but once I got the logs right it fixed all that and it works great

it is an open wood burning fireplace it is just for looks and not to heat the house. Maybe its a smoke making fireplace

no it heats the whole downstairs the problem was I didnt have the crematic logs positioned corectly and it was causing some smoke even through it is a propain fireplace you have got to have your loge place corectly

well yes i have tried the positioning of the logs and yes id does make a
difference but i can only burn 1 log at a time and it has to be right at the back of the fireplace,I also raised the stand and it is still the same.

Check your smoke stack and it's air flow.
Smoke stacks don't just allow the smoke to go up and out, they are supposed to literally 'pull' the smoke out.
I would start investigating your smoke stack arrangement and connections...

smoke stack? is that the same as a liner because the contractor that
installed it said that i was a one piece but it does not come all the way
down to the flue door which i would have thought it would have. if not then i do not know what a smoke stack is

In your case, your fireplace flue....the whole chimney itself....
It should basically be sucking up the warm smokey air and venting it out without any additional overflow smoke, unless something is wrong with the air flow....
Normally, when you have a fire, even at the initial start of it, the smoke should just get 'sucked' right up. Sort of like what happens when you light a match next to a leaky window. The cold air suctions out the warmer air...
That is why I suggest looking at issue with the air flow...the flue...
