Fire Surround

Hi all,
I want to install a fire surround around a wood burning stove, does it have to be made of a certain material, or can I use any surround ?

Many Thanks,

Fire Surround

Check the mfgr's. specs for suggested materials, then check with the local building dept. and see what their code REQUIRES.
