Fire doors

Hi Jud and welcome to the site.
What is your location, if I may ask?
Could have a lot to do with the answer.
Is the breezeway enclosed or open?
If open and not considered living space than I am thinking that a 20 min. fire rated door is not required but the best ones to ask are the local Building and Safety officials.
