Question

Finish basement insulation question

Hi all,

I recently completed all my rough inspections and am now insulating the walls in preparation for my insulation inspection on Monday. Part of my fire blocking plan calls for using R-19 on the upper 16 inches of every cavity with the remainder of the cavity filled with R-13.

doing this creates a seam where the two types meet. how do I patch this seam up to close it off? use tape? - what kind? or can I leave it alone? (just push the two types close to each other and staple to the studs).

Thanks
