Finding replacement siding

I have a missing piece of vinyl siding and a few damaged ones to boot. I have had a bit of trouble locating a suitable replace. I don't want to redo the whole house just find matching pieces. Once I find the right match I would like to buy a whole box of it so I don't have any more problems findng it. I have searched the net but haven't really found what I need. Everyone wants to come and do your whole house. Any ideas on a good starting point. I was thinking about looking through my paperwork from when I bought the house to see if it listed the exact siding type. I didn't buy the house new and it is about 16 years old.
